OUR DAUGHTER/SON,A DRUNK/DRUG ADDICT!!! PARENTS YOU ARE NOT TO BLAME: As we become more involved in trying to control our child"s dependency, the blame turns to anger and spills over into the relationship with our spouse. It becomes difficult to talk with our spouse or child. We are angry because our child chose to ignore responsibilities and the opportunities and education we provided. Our sense of failure embarrasses and shames us. When the pain becomes to excruciating we turn to denial.We cant deal with the truth when we deny that a problem exists.we deny that our child suffers a disease- chemical dependency!! Playing the blame game is futile. To blame ourselves, to blame our children, to blame others is self-defeat Parents, you are not to blame!! LESSON FOR ME TO LEARN.
