OUR DIVERSITY IS OUR GREATEST STRENGTH. #izzitalk #nfiq Great country men and women of my beloved nation, beautiful like rain bow with its distinct colours, together we are amazingly colourful, strong and equipped to face diverse challenges on all fronts and this is possible because of our intelligent diversity; the ultimate success secret that embolden us to triumph over any difficulty we have ever faced as a nation. We must not be torn apart by individual interests or be drowned by negative media poking holes in the strength of our diversity. We have come a long way and our best days are ahead of us. No single prospering nation has towered without difficulties, so we must be ready to cross seas together, build new bridges and strengthen old ones across the mole hills that separate us, and awaken the spirit of accommodation that enables every Nigerian to call any part of this great country home without any fear. Brothers and sisters living in east, west, north and south of this great land, we share the same hopes and fears. We desire a country that has strong and dependable institutions, a committed leadership that is zealous to build basic social and economic infrastructures like standard educational system with lots of research grants for improvement and development, access to good medical facility, comfortable and affordable housing for all, good human data system for proper planning and allocation of resources, electrical power for our homes and businesses, good access roads, optimum and equal justice system, robust banking sector that supports big and small businesses, well trained and well paid corrupt free police, flourishing middle class, and many more that makes a nation great. Although we are afraid to trust again due to past experiences, however we must realise that true troubles shall troubles mend. No prospering nation can be stronger by running away from their problems which in many ways are opportunities in disguise. Problems bring about inventions and legislation that empower people to do things better and strengthens the common bond that binds any nation. Our diversity is our greatest strength, like the human body no single part can claim to be most efficient. Though the eyes see brightly in the day but the hands are needed to guide you in the dark when the lights are out. Though the legs carry us, the brain is needed to direct its path. The man is said to be a successful perfect gentle man because all the parts of his body worked together in an orchestrated harmony for the final label the man is now recognized by. Our diversity if properly recognized as a great gift and harnessed we shall surely be one of the greatest and prospering nation in the world. Since we all share the same fears and aspirations, it is important for every citizen to actively participate in selecting qualified, experienced, patriotic minds in our mist irrespective of their ethnic identity to be in position of leadership because what binds us as a nation is not ethnic identity but ethnic unity; the bonding together of great multi-talented people from divers’ cultural backgrounds to build one of the greatest nations in the world. It doesn’t matter which part of our great country our leaders hail from, what matters is for them to meet the desires of the citizens of this great nation. The era of selecting leadership based on ethnic and religious affiliation should die with the past. We are a nation of intellectuals and should be guided accordingly for the common good of all.
