OUR ELDERS MUST BE SLEEPING Someone stole some millions of naira - TopicsExpress

OUR ELDERS MUST BE SLEEPING Someone stole some millions of naira yesterday, another has just stolen some billions of naira today, what will be stolen tomorrow, we do not know now. There were multiple bomb explosions in Borno state, explosions taking place in Plateau,Kano, Kaduna. Sporadic and thunderous gunshots heard some where in the country. A diplomat has been kidnapped, no, a politician, businessman, scholar, the list goes on .Yet our elders are still sleeping. Somewhere up north, corps members are been murdered, assasins are having a field day, Our roads are impassable, Our health care is dead, we do not know electricity but sunlight and moonlight, our oil is being mined with proper records, multi-national oil companies do not pay tax as they are not listed on the Nigerian stock exchange. There are strong tribal and ethnic wars amongst us. Another plane has just crashed, A policeman has just accidentally killed an innocent Nigerian, Yet our elders are still sleeping. Our children no longer remember the roads to their classrooms because ASUU is on strike. We are losing our lands and waters to oil pollution, Our lifespan is getting shorter, yet our elders are still sleeping. The elder is supposed to show the younger ones, the right direction to take. Instill moral discipline and decorum in the young ones. But how can they carry out their responsibilities if they are asleep to all the ills befalling everyday in this great country of ours. If Bombs, accidents, gunshots, power failure, cries cannot wake up their consciousness to what we go through in this country, then what will. May someone out there needs to tap them to consciousness.
