OUR GOD IS HEALER!!!! Saturday 8/9 7AM By LaNay Blackmon Jake had a better night last night. He was able to get more rest. He gets a push of sedative when he needs it, but hes not on a sedative drip any more. They had turned off the feeding tube yesterday to give his stomach a break while they figured out if it they needed to adjust antibiotics. They also ran a couple other tests to be sure it was not something else entirely. As of right now, hes on 3 antibiotics. Theyll plan to restart a trickle feed today and see how his stomach handles it. He hasnt wanted any pain meds since before his trip outside yesterday. So thats a praise to know hes not in pain right now. The chest x-rays did not show improvement today, but they were not any worse either. So thats good! He gets dialysis today. Please pray for some progress there and for those kidneys to wake up too! His night respiratory therapist was very cool. Reminded me of Jorge Garcia (from Lost.) He sat by Jakes bed while he worked and told him that hed been in his spot. He had an accident in a river and spent 3 days on a ventilator. One more person with an encouraging spirit. :) Today Im going to try to start piecing together the order of events that day at Sand Harbor. Weve heard back from many people and talked with several first responders. So I think we have enough info now to have names to all the heroes there that day. Im excited about it and its also hard to read. I want to have it together for Jake so he can understand what a miracle this is as soon as hes ready to talk about it. Please continue to pray for his peace and comfort. And for there to be something to watch on tv!!
