OUR HUMAN BODIES ARE SPIRITUAL RESEARCH LABS There are numerous hidden powers dormant within the human body, which can be awakened and mastered gradually, with effort. When we send a child to school, the school master does not impart anything to the child from the outside; he merely awakens the child’s dormant faculties in his brain. This is done gradually, through daily exercises. The same is the case with spiritual faculties. The positive proof of such faculties can be had when one looks within himself. The human body is a laboratory for spiritual research, and proof can be had by taking the attention currents inside. If you can complete your concentration, that is, if you can collect the attention currents (which are permeating the entire body) in the eye focus and can invert your gaze (which means seeing inside rather than outside), you will find that there is intense light within you as are also numberless planes where unceasing music is going on. If a human being can take his attention inward, probe inside, and take possession of the wealth which the Almighty Lord has put there, then the five foes can be conquered. The Sound Current or Audible Life Stream is inside and can be heard by anyone who turns his attention inward. If man inverts his hearing faculties, he can hear it. This is a highly technical process and cannot be explained adequately in books. It can be obtained by personal contact with a living Master. At first, one should try to complete his concentration, for which there are various methods. When the attention has gone in, one is accompanied by the Inner Master and can meet with prophets and sages at different planes, even though they died long, long ago. (Jagat Singh. The Science Of The Soul. RSSB 1959/1994. Pp. 163-164) I want to briefly discuss Jagat Singhs comment about meeting with prophets and sages who have come in the past. This can certainly be done, and it is possible to meet and talk to great souls like Jesus, Moses, Krishna, Rumi, Saint Theresa of Avila, Guru Nanak, Kabir, Mirabai, etc. But this is always done in the company of a living, God-realized teacher; for a living teacher can check the bonafides of beings claiming to be a great sage, prophet, master or saint from our past. If the being in question is shady, they will try to argue against needing a living teacher, challenge your teachers credibility, or try to change the subject. But if the being is legitimate and ethical and honorable, he or she will happily agree to a credibility check, and will honor and respect your relationship with your living teacher. Please, always remember this. Having mentioned that, I want to say I really like this theme of the our human bodies being laboratories for spiritual exploration. Its a theme that has been expounded by many Surat Shabda teachers (including Darshan Singh). Our physical human forms are blessed with all we need in order to tap into the Spiritual Current and explore within. Nothing needs to be added - no wisdom needs to be imparted by beings on other planets or in other dimensions. We have everything we need - right here, right now. By simply being initiated into the Spiritual Current (Shabda, Word, Holy Spirit), and focusing our attention at the eye center (Third Eye or Pineal Gland), we can unlock and open the inner door, be embraced and lifted up by the Current, and make the journey all the way back home to the Soul Plane, the Etenral Kingdom of Heaven, and the throne of God ITSelf. In doing so, we prove to ourselves that Soul, the Kingdom of Heaven and God are real. We dont need to listen to other peoples accounts, or go to mediums or channelers, or hope space people will come here to impart their great wisdom to we mere earthlings. Anything an ET, or channeled entity, or teacher who has come in the past can teach us, we can learn for ourselves on a direct, personal, experiential basis And personal experience - seeing Soul, and Heaven, and God for ourselves - is so much better than taking anybodys word for it. For when we have seen, we know; and what we have seen we are able to actually, truly love. How can we love that which we have not seen? We may love an idea of God, a feeling of God - be we are not actually loving God ITSelf until we have see the Eternal face-to-face.
