OUR YEAR OF BOUNDLESS OPPORTUNITIES My dear brothers and sisters, a great year is gone and a new year is here, bringing with it new hope, focus, aspirations, resolutions and excitement. I wish you all a successful and rewarding 2015. As global citizens, we recall that the year 2014 gone-by recorded significant milestones and achievements as well as witnessed a grim state of affairs around the world with stories of bloodshed, tragedy and human failures never ceasing to seize the headlines. But the excitement of this new year brings about an anticipation of a better future. This is one real moment that will touch the fabrics of human emotions that entails not only hope, but a reason to keep smiling and living life as it is. This is a significant year for us in Akwa Ibom State, a year of history and great decision. A year we shall march to the polls to determine our collective destiny for the next four years, and maybe for the next decade. The powers to chose between success and failure, growth and backwardness, wealth and poverty are in our hands. We must not be carried away by the sentiments of this political season to lose sight of the burden of expectations of the future. What lies ahead of us requires a strategic plan and a competent leadership to execute the blueprints. After the euphoria of the elections, we shall be left to face the challenges of wealth, creation, continuous infrastructure and man power development, need for provision of basic amenities amongst other pressing economic, social and political demands. We must grow above ethnicism, falsehood and propaganda. We must put our best hands forward to save the future for posterity. I solicit your votes to become the next governor of our dear state because I am prepared for this task. I have married the strides of the past with the expectations of the future. I acknowledge that Akwa Ibom State has been transformed from the pedestrian destination that nobody ever considered visiting, to a must-see wonder of infrastructure development, a prized destination, an economic hub and recreational get-away. The journey to our dreams is still far away but we have made significant steps and with your support, I will take us there. Akwa Ibom is ready for the next stage of development. What will make the difference is leadership that can seize opportunities and build on this great foundation that has been laid. What is required now is a proven manager of men and finances, who shares in the vision of His Excellency and has the courage to lead Akwa Ibom in its next quantum leap into industrialization, economic empowerment of its people, and wealth creation. I am the best man for the job. I am passionate about the well-being of our people on a sustainable basis. At the dawn of this new year, I present myself to you to be that force of change that will galvanize all Akwa Ibomites, irrespective of ethnic, stock, religion, or political affiliation, and create a springboard on which our people will ride to unprecedented levels of economic well-being and development. This is our year of triumph, brothers and sisters. May 2015 greet us with days as fragrant as roses, as colorful as rainbow, as bright as sunshine and as happy and cheerful as a lark. May 2015 give us the opportunity to realise our dreams, rediscover our strengths, muster our willpower and rejoice the simple pleasures that life would bring our way.
