Oakland Athletics have agreed to a three year, $30 million dollar deal with designated hitter Billy Butler. Butler will also received a $5 million dollar signing bonus. Butler hit .271 (149-549) with 9 home runs & 66 RBI in 151 games this season with the Royals. Miami Marlins have expressed interest in free agent RHP James Shields. If the Marlins were to sign Shields, it would cost the Marlins thier number 12 pick in this years draft. Shields went 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA in 34 starts this season. Pittsburgh Pirates signed RHP Brad Lincoln to a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training. Lincoln posted a 11.57 ERA in 2 relief appearances this season with the Phillies. Lincoln went 6-11 with a 5.11 ERA in 27 games (22 starts) in the Triple-A. Cleveland Indians re-signed RHP Shaun Marcum to a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training. Marcum last pitched in the Majors in 2013 with the Mets, going 1-10 with a 5.29 ERA in 14 games (12 starts). Marcum went 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 9 games (2 starts) in the minors this season.
