(Oakland, CA) - The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Oakland Bay Area Chapter (NCBW/OBAC), a local non-profit organization serving the Bay Area since 1995 celebrated 18 years of service to the Bay Area on November 5, 2013. The Oakland chapter is one of 63 chapters within the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., network. On Sunday, December 1st, the Oakland Bay Chapter will honor founding members and members of the Oakland Bay Area Chapter at Beebe Memorial Cathedral Worship service from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon. Beebe Memorial Cathedral is located at 3900 Telegraph, Oakland, California. In celebration of World AIDS Day, The Oakland Bay Area Chapter will partner with the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area, Inc., and CAL-PEP to host the 13th Annual Sistahs Getting Real about HIV/AIDS Billboard Campaign and HIV Forum following the service from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. “HIV is still Real In Our Community”. Speakers include Dr. Anthony E. Jones, Dr. Gloria Lockett, Cheryl Perry League, President of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. OBAC, Dr. Charley Hames, Jr. Pastor of Beebe Memorial Cathedral, and a host of others including HIV testimonials . The public is invited to join in this event as we continue to raise awareness in our community. Free HIV testing will be provided by CAL-PEP from 12 noon – 3:00 p.m., all individuals who test will receive a complimentary soul food dinner.
