Oasis Public School celebrate sports day Oasis Public High School, Gogji Bagh celebrated its annual sports day on Saturday at Bakshi Stadium, here. The event saw number of mesmerising performances performed by young kids in different kind of events. The students participated in the disciplines of 100 metre sprint, potato race, spoon race, sack race, frog jump and 400 metre. Commissioner Secretary Transport, Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo was the chief guest on the occasion while as J&K Bank Executive President Abdul Hameed Banday was guest of honour. The event started with the welcome speech by Director Academics Sameena Wani in which she thanked and welcomed the guests, parents and students. She threw light on the importance of sports as well. She further added, today is a day when students are freed from classroom to jump & run around, freed from the satire of learning, it is a day for mothers to wear their best and fathers to cheer on their sons, it is a day when children who may struggle with academic subjects show that they can run faster & jump than anyone else. The ground looked beautiful when the students of Oasis high school begin their activities which were being started by March past, & followed by other activities. On the occasion Mehraj Kakroo said that he was delighted to watch the synchronize march past and other athletic activities. He appreciated event organized by the school and emphasized the importance of sports activities needed by the students and said it is a vision of the school to develop according to their potential and nurture their skills. It helps in developing the kinaesthic skill like special intelligence, logistic intelligence & intra-structural potentialities. The event culminated with the award ceremony where students were awarded trophies and medals by the chief guest. The chief guest was honoured with memento given by worthy Chairman Ashiq Hussain Masoodi.
