Obadiah 3 "You have been deceived by your own pride because you live in a rock fortress and make your home high in the mountains." (tvo) Pride destroys! It does this by deceiving us, causing us to think that we are above any possible calamity that may overcome us. Pride also keeps us from to seeking help when we begin to notice flaws in certain areas of our life. Take marriage for example. In the context of marriage pride causes us to act as if everything is just fine in our relationship with our spouse, when we know that everything is not fine and has not been fine for a long time. Pride causes us to refuse being honest with our friends, who could at least be praying for us, and pride stops us from doing anything that could actually help our marriage heal. Instead of hiding behind pride, which will eventually lead to the death of the marriage, seek help. Start by asking God to reveal the places in your life that pride has kept you from acknowledgeing faults. Then be humble enough to seek out the wisdom of a Godly friend. Pride destroys, but humility restores.
