Obamacare. We aren’t done talking about it until someone - TopicsExpress

Obamacare. We aren’t done talking about it until someone “follows the money.” If employers are required to offer health care to employees, look for huge price rises in your Nescafe, polo shirts, cars, etc. As employers figure this out, they’ll find that five employees at 29 hours (to beat the 30) is only 15 hours short of four at 40 hours. They’ll make up with it with a 15-hour guy and save thousands on health insurance. And they’ll skate some of it by structuring some jobs as a weekly fee or contract. When they do this, most people will get two jobs. They simply aren’t going to make it on 30 hours’ pay. It spurs employment in number of people employed and pay goes down for all by 25 percent. Forcing insurance companies to take all comers will bankrupt some insurance companies. They are only allowed to make 10 percent, which will change their cost tables drastically. Ten percent is too close to the line – reserves and 10 percent can be wiped out with one lawsuit. The employers will hafta pay. Obama sure as hell isn’t gonna pay. Doctors? Their income goes down because insurance companies will simply pay out less for services unless the government mandates cost for treatment by the illness. Can you imagine what a cluster it would be if the government itemized treatment pay for everything from the sniffles to heart disease? Can you imagine the graft? Nurses? Hospitals? Instant Care places? Manufacturers of medical instruments and machines? So, who makes out? Sick people maybe. Maybe.
