Obamacare continues to suck. My family doctor for the last 12 years was forced into early retirement because his small practice couldnt afford to computerize their medical records. They faced crippling fines. Now my entire familys medical records have been turned over to the local hospital. We are all forced to find new doctors who will take us, but they wont know us like our last doctor. I found a physician in the hospitals network who will take the kids but refused to take my husband and me. The urgent care that we used on weekends and holidays has also shut down while they computerize their records. We literally have no place to go for medical care if we get sick. Novant Health Care which operates 15 hospitals in North Carolina just reduced pay for 150 medical secretaries. Now that doctors orders are being entered electronically their title is being changed to receptionist and they are getting 10% paycut. And electronic records were blamed for the miscommunication about the ebola patient patient who DIED in Texas. The attending pbysician did not see the attending nurses notes because of the software setup. What good does it do for the nurse to evaluate the patient initially if the evaluation is never shared with the doctor. So, in this short post alone I can count 5 people who lost their job, an unknown number who lost their doctor (6 of whom are in my family), 150 people getting a pay cut, 2 people who got ebola from a misdiagnosed patient, hundreds of people monitored for ebola, and 1 person dead. How many others will lose their livelyhoods and their lives before Obamacare is stopped? With deductibles and out-of-pockets in the thousands and tens of thousands for many under Obamacares mandates, is anyone really being helped?
