Obamas Press Conference leaves me feeling better. I think us Earth Savers need a forceful, revised strategy. However, I am mildly encouraged by the remarks of President Obama. He put a specific set of criteria about KXL out there and I think intellectual honesty will prevent a decision to build the pipeline. That said, I will be paying closest attention now to how we Stop Global Warming & specifically Stop the Keystone XL Pipeline, No More Dirty Tar Sands Oil That Said, I am not sure I have an organization, but I hope there are groups grabbing the cudgel to do what is needed. One thing that I think is needed is a Target. I think we need to look at States & Regions of the USA where we can pursue an aggressive agenda. We badly need a major BREAKTHROUGH. I think the Northeast Compact Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative: an initiative of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States of the U.S. provides an example of one approach. I think the fullest possible range of public policy options should be considered. There are many states in this country with a strong majority of people who want to see action. We cannot allow a stalemate in our Federal government to prevent us from applying pressure for prompt action. I also support Direct Action/Protest, but electoral and policy advocacy is essential as well.
