Obamas (and his spokeswoman) declaration this week that the PA does NOT have to recognize Israel as a Jewish state is outrageous. Considering that it is one of the key demands made by Netanyahu, and considering that there have been NO complementary declarations nullifying key demands of the PA, how on Earth can Obama justify this? Negotiations are between the two parties, and a final agreement must meet the minimum needs of each party. It is not up to the USA to pre-judge and predetermine what the outcome of those talks should be, nor what elements of the negotiations are trivial and unimportant. Obama has shown himself to be a dishonest mediator, and I do not see (nor have I ever, frankly) a favorable outcome to the negotiations. The PA has not conceded a single point, at any time in the 30 years or so of negotiations. They have consistently violated agreements, and are now, in my opinion, simply waiting for Israel to release the last batch of prisoners, and will then withdraw from negotiations, having attained what they most want. detroitnews/article/20140309/OPINION01/303090007/Obama-wobbles-again-Israel
