Obama’s amnesty program for undocumented young people is touted as the best way to assign limited resources thereby saving the tax payers dollars. While this seems reasonable it is not. We are already well aware that our Border Patrol is stretched to the breaking point and beyond becoming a federal babysitting service for illegal immigrant minors! But what has not been well publicized by our illustrious liberal media is the impact on ICE. With over 90,000 minors illegally entering the country ICE has shifted it’s resources to handle the President’s program. Unfortunately something had to give and it has. The US immigration service is now some 500,000 applications behind for legal immigration and the list is growing longer every week! And that is just for citizens applying for Green Cards for spouses, children or parents! A process that a few years ago took an estimated 4 to 5 months now takes a minimum of 15 months! How long the backlog is for legal immigrants trying to come to America is unknown. The figures were from a New York Times article.
