Obasanjo relocates to Villa During the week, former President - TopicsExpress

Obasanjo relocates to Villa During the week, former President Olusegun Obasanjo for two days "took over" the Presidential Villa which he left in 2007 after calling the shots from there for eight years. Obasanjo relocated to the Villa in his bid to resolve the crisis rocking the ruling Peoples Democratic Party. He decided to meet with PDP state governors, not in his house or any hotel, but inside the seat of power. The two-day meeting, which so far seems not to have yielded any positive result, was held inside one of the small halls in the Banquet Hall of the Villa. That initially gave an erroneous impression that Jonathan was part of the meeting since the meeting held in his domain. Those who are familiar with happenings in the Villa however know that Jonathan is not known to meeting state governors inside the Banquet Hall. The only meetings he hosts inside the hall are those of the PDP national caucus and that of the Board of Trustees. He meets with state governors either inside the Conference Hall of the Office of the First Lady or inside one of the guests houses in the Villa, House VII. Till today, many are still wondering why Baba Iyabo decided to host the governors inside the Villa. Maybe the Ebora Owu himself will one day explain the rationale behind the decision to Nigerians.
