~ Observations on Authority ~ All authority includes responsibility to the giver of the authority. All those in authority are under authority as well – the Highest Authority is God and He is not confined to printed material, but is seated in heaven and dwells in the soul of the believer. Making decisions and leading is not always pleasurable, but is challenging; and one is responsible for the results when things go awry. Decisions by the one in authority impact those under that authority; and all authority comes from above us; so all stand before the One Above, naked and vulnerable. Authority is given from another above; submission to authority is a choice made from our position below. The one who submits fully to authority is free from responsibility for its effects. The one who gives authority, responsibly carried out by another, is accountable for its effects. Therefore, the one who is in submission to authority has more freedom from responsibility than the one having authority. There is only one church that God sees, and we are that temple in which He dwells, and Jesus is the Head of the church of which we are members. All authority has been given to Jesus by the Father, and we are blessed and free when in submission to Him. ~ N. DeLaHunt ~ 1-17-14.
