Occasionally, the mind, in hypnopompic transit, will conduct the dreaming version of the consideration of a concept. The result is stranger than all of human history and culture... and, I suspect, more intelligent, natural, and alive... as well. Having experienced this while waking this morning, I am struck by the utter impossibility of conveying to »this mind, in waking language, even a hint of what the dreaming mind was clearly and cohesively ‘thinking’ »about. It seemed to be a concept related to »considering things in general. The supralogue of the «concept» that belongs to the dream is a peculiar beastie... alive with strange and actively evolving dimensions and memberships... each more peculiar yet, in that mind, appropriate, than any of the concepts we are the nominal slaves of whilst waking. There is, in the ‘logic’ of the dream, a structure that is to waking minds what a forest is to a parking lot. The dream’s version of the concept. Which, I suspect, underlies the trusted structures upon which our waking consciousness appears to us to rely. But this ‘logic’ is nothing like our language or even categories. It is as wild and psygenic as direct participation in the sources of consciousness — as consciousness... could be. I think the dream’s supralogue is aconceptual, directly experiential, and indicative of another mode of both mind, knowledge, awareness... and verity.
