Occupy Portland On this day 2 years ago over 12,000 of us gathered to voice our frustrations at the corruption that has taken over our economy and our democracy. We gathered by the Waterfront, unknowing and unaware of what was about to transpire, as the crowd grew larger and larger with every eager minute. From the Waterfront we proceeded to take our frustrations through the streets of Portland, with our makeshift cardboard signs and banners made from bedsheets. For two hours we marched, stopping at Pioneer Square for a mid-march rally where we cheered on those who were brave enough to get up and speak in front of the thousands of anxious onlookers. From there we continued marching, united, chanting "WE ARE THE 99%!!" and "SHOW ME WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!!".
