Oct 18th Birthday: Charles Edward Anderson aka Chuck Berry 87. Hard to believe but his only U.S. number one hit was not Johnny B. Goode, Maybelllen, or Roll Over Beethoven but instead the silly little novelty My Ding-A-Ling-A-Ling cover song in 1972. Even when it reached number 1, some stations refused to play the song because of the controversy re what playing with his ding-a-ling-a-ling meant. I dont remember this song but just a couple years later around 74 or 75 I remember the silly novelty song The Streak was played non stop.
