October 1st would have been Cub Kodas 66th birthday. This talented singer/songwriter was born in Detroit in 1948 .. and has music in his blood from the start. Beginning as a drummer, then grabbing the guitar .. Cub, nicknamed from the Mickey Mouse Club character, joined his first band, the Del-Tinos in 1963, and released their first single in the fall of that year. In 1969, he formed Brownsville Station, and rolled out a string of local and national hit songs. Koda backed off the heavy-duty rock and roll a bit, and joined his buddies in the blues band, The Houserockers later on. Not a healthy guy, Koda wound up on kidney dialysis and sadly passed away July 1st, 2000. Working right to the end .. Stephen King even called Cub Coda Americas greatest houserocker. Always willing to help out and jam with his buddies .. Cub Koda is still missed today .. and well remember .... with his first piece of work with the Del-Tinos ...
