October 26 was a great day for the Baraboo CROP Hunger Walk. More than 70 walkers and rockers from the downtown Baraboo churches, One Heart, Inc., and other community members met in our parking lot. We had apples, bars, and water from Ski Hi and Walmart, with custard tokens from Culvers. We raised $2,678 and will get $1,500 from Thrivent. Our youth made CROP Walk shirts and, with their donations and challenge grant from members of congregation, raised $45 per youth. That is awesome. It is a great way of showing we care for those who are hungry both here at home and around the world. More than $1,000 will be shared with the Baraboo Food Pantry. They will also receive the extra apples, bars, and water. The remainder supports the global work of Church World Service as it addresses immediate and systemic needs far and wide. Thank you for all your help in encouraging our youth and sponsoring the CROP Walk for our community. A special thanks to Orie Eilertson and Steve Argo for being the driving force within the congregation and overall.
