October 30 Commencing on 6 November 2014 and continuing until approximately 18 December 2014, a U.S. Government floating plant will be making repairs to the floating guide wall located in the fore bay at Port Allen Lock. The repairs to the floating guide wall, located in the Mississippi River, will be performed Mondays through Thursdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The majority of the work will be performed from behind the floating guide wall with navigation traffic being allowed to pass after clearance from the Lock Operator. Mariners should exercise extreme caution when approaching the guide wall, from either direction. Short intermittent closures of the Lock (up to 4 hours) may be necessary in order to complete the work.
