October has been an amazing month for products! Between great samples in Octobers Birchwood box, Allure Sample Society box, and the odds and sods picked up in my travels……I am in a product stupor at the moment. Sigh. While I have loads of items that Ive been hot and heavy with this month, I wanted to share a few that stood out the most. In fact, were going steady. Bella Tentazioni is a local company providing organic, homemade natural body scrubs, soaps, and the like. This local talent feels very much like a Lush or Fresh companies in their early days. I messaged the proprietor and happily purchased the 10oz lemon scrub for $20 and Almond and Coconut organic cupcake 4-pack for $20. She delivered them to my home same day with a smile, happy to talk to me about how she concocts her wonderful products. Over the course of the last week, I have marveled in these two products. The organic cupcakes are a two part experience. The lovely white icing is a wonderful exfoliant that is gentle on even the skin of my six year olds. The cake part a lovely soap that is gentle enough on the girls skin, but effective enough on my skin - post work out. The icing exfoliant was used up more or less in once use. The soap portion however is still going strong. The fragrant Almond and Coconut cupcakes are made from raw organic shea butter and organic coconut oil. A really lovely way to clean leaving skin moisturized and lightly fragrant. The lemon sugar scrub, I kept all to myself. What a luxe addition to my evening ritual. This scrub is made from organic sugar, raw lemon, and 2 organic oils. What the Bella Tentazioni proprietor shared with me, is that there is no salt in this scrub which allows the sugar and oil to work together to polish and moisturize. And this description did not disappoint. I used generous amounts of the scrub all over, then took the powers of this scrub a step further and worked it in with my shower pouf. A quick rinse, and I was done. What I noticed immediately, was how wonderfully moisturized my skin was. So much so in fact, that I did not need to reach for the lotion as I usually do. What a pleasure it is to use this scrub. Last but least was the thoughtful packaging each product arrived in. Each truly was a gift just for me. And sometimes we all need that dont we? With the holidays fast approaching, lets show our local talent some love and treat our friends, mothers, daughters, aunts, and special people in our lives to the wonderful products of Bella Tentazioni. You can check her out on FB or personal message her at: bellatentazioni@gmail Next up we have Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Products. I share these products because of it is somewhat of a journey trying to find a sulfate free shampoo that lathers on hair thats been treated by keratin. The shampoo and conditioner were recommended by the brilliant Rebecca Gebeloff after my laments to her over sulfate free shampoos that do not lather. One express keratin treatment later, and I was walking out of the salon with the Moisturizing Lather Shampoo and Keratin Cream rinse. What a difference these two products make. The suds factor is exceptional, and unlike some other sulfate free shampoos and conditioners those of us with keratin treated hair use, my hair felt super clean and conditioned after using both. If you are a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner fan, check out Paul Mitchells Awapuhi Wild Ginger Products - you will be a convert immediately. The other perk to this line - the amazing fragrance your hair will hold all day if not longer. Great discovery - Rebecca is a hero for recommending them both! True game change-ers. Last but not least an eye cream and serum. Theres nothing worse the being asked constantly are you tired? Life in the fast lane will cause that puffy tired look around our eyes in even the most composed, well rested, and well sorted lady. I am not nearly as composed, rested, or sorted as I should be as we make a made dash into the end of 2014, and my eyes are betraying me. Enter Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate. Catching my eye as I ran past a duty free shoppe in OHare Airport…..it was like a beacon of hope. While pricey at $81, this purchase was worth every, single, penny. De-puffing, soothing, and firming up the delicate area around my eyes immediately. In fact, I was pleased to discover that from the time I slapped this on in the car from the airport to my arrival at the office, I looked noticeably well rested and refreshed. A wonderful secret weapon on those days where you have to fake it. Serums offer all sorts of uses these days from dark spot correction, to anti wrinkle treatment, and blemish treatment. On those occasions where you choose to address more then 1 concern with your serum there is Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum. Fine lines, firming, dark spots, and radiance (or as I call it - the plump factor) Clnique Smart Custom Repair Serum does it all. I have taken to using this serum at night before my moisturizer. Each morning the last 3 weeks I have been happily awaking to more even skin tone that is well hydrated. As I finish this bottle, I plan to incorporate the Smart Custom Repair Serum into my regimen as a supplement to my more focused serums that address one concern at a time. Most certainly recommend this to your daily (or nightly) routine. In the afterglow that is October, I will close out this month with these divine finds close at hand. Thinking ahead to November, a little luxe moisture, firming serums, and hair masks will be on my list as we start to face the fact that cold weather is upon us -as is the holiday season. There is no better time then November to boost your beauty regime to incorporate a little TLC to get us through the chill and insanity this time of year brings.
