Oddly enough, Im writing Nealas story (editing) for my professor - TopicsExpress

Oddly enough, Im writing Nealas story (editing) for my professor (maybe for my portfolio- who the hell knows) and I just ran into a situation where I sent these pointers to someone about pet fundraising... The thing people fail to realize is that people DO WANT TO HELP! We all do! Were only human! But you have to break through our shellacked exteriors- we are so bombarded day in and day out with fundraisers and cries for donations that we tend to forget to reach deep and help others... So Im going to share here what I shared tonight through a message- and actually, Ive shared this with a few others over the past few years since Nealas death... There are some key elements that really worked for the fundraising- one, pictures, pictures, pictures! I looked at most Gofundme page and there is only one pic of your pet- post more! Pics of your pet happy, sad, playing, sleeping! Pictures of your pet in surgery, in a cast, radiographs (x-rays). Anything to make people feel CONNECTED to your pet and its journey/situation. Second- connect outside of your normal groups. Facebook has an amazing amount of animal lovers on it- but a Facebook page dedicated directly towards your pet and his or her journey is a great way to go! Third- think outside of the box... I have a feeling you and your friend have creative friends within your contacts. Ask them to donate items to be either be auctioned off and all proceeds go to the pets surgery. So I hope Im not overstepping... Our story is documented here- it has a very sad ending, but the light found at the end was that people DO care. You just have to give them a real way to connect with your situation. You can do that nowadays through video, pictures and of course, social media...
