Ode to Darren On returning from a 3 week trip to visit my folks - TopicsExpress

Ode to Darren On returning from a 3 week trip to visit my folks in Zimbabwe, you should have seen the hugs and kisses, and some tears, in the arrivals hall, when we were fetched by Darren who had stayed home to pay the bills so to speak. However on arriving home and opening the door it was clear that he had done so much more: 1. You know how you are dazzled when you walk into a house with vacuumed and washed ceramic floors – well I was. 2. Our not at all nearly new stove had been scrubbed clean so that I almost asked why he had bought a new one. 3. The dining room chairs however, were brand new, well half brand new, with new upholstering (I left them virtually in tatters), I was pleasantly surprised at the extremely reasonable price he had paid for this to be done, and was then completely blown away to discover that he had re-upholstered himself and the great price was the cost of the material. 4. Apple could certainly help the state of the computers in the house, but Darren certainly showed he can also start a start-up, if not in the garage, in the house. Happy to report that all computers are working as they should and no more having to kick-start them. 5. Looking out the windows (ALL of them) I felt that we had moved house, as I did not recognize the view, which was before blurry and unclear, both sides were clean, which means taking out the sliding windows for an all over and then putting them back. 6. The flight was a long one and all we wanted to do when we got home late at night was to jump into crisp clean sheets, which is exactly what we did. 7. Getting up early in the morning to go to work was an unexpected pleasure, the walk-in cupboard resembled a Marines wardrobe, everything in its place perfectly lined up, shoes all in a row. 8. The surprises kept coming, and during my washing up chores I looked for more washing-up liquid and saw the cupboard under the sink perfectly partitioned into cleaning materials/plastic bags/papers etc. 9. And just when I thought that this was it, I saw that he had also done the filing, which was a real long time in the waiting!!!!!!!!!! So what is the moral of this story, is it: When you go travelling you should leave your husband at home OR Marry a good man!!!!! (Who also bakes, cooks, does laundry, plumbs, woodworks etc. etc.) The latter I do believe. Darren, thank you very much my Good Man!!!!!
