Of course, after marrying a producer and specially a producer who has been her love interest since a very long time will give you outcomes like lead roles in a movie. No second thoughts to Rani being a brilliant actor but, having such a successful and wealthy producer as your husband will help her achieve what she cannot in reel life. She is getting old, so the roles in her age criteria lessen automatically. The story was for a good cause giving out a good message. The best part was the predictability rate which was merely 10-15%. The intensity, drama and the suspense were at a balanced rate. First half being a little slower than the second, this movie covers up and gives you blistering action sequences. “Mardaani” is a story about women empowerment and is a way to tell them to wake up and fight for your rights. DO NOT get slaughtered and defeated by this cruel world. I would also mention that some of the dialogues were shockingly realistic and a tight slap to the face of the Indian audience (a.k.a Janta). You will know which ones I am talking about once you go watch the movie. Debutant Tahir Bhasin did a fabulous job characterizing the negative role. Director Pradeep Sarkar did a good job after a long time giving consecutive flops such as “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag” and “Lafangey Parindey”. A must watch for broadminded viewers. 3.5/5. P.S: Why does Rani shout at every punch she throws, I mean aren’t the sound effects enough? Every Indian film has to have these kind of scenes but don’t overdo it. Please?
