Of my Pullman friends with kids in the PSD, has anyone dealt with their kids being moved between schools? My kids are being moved to franklin elementary and I just found out last Friday from my kids. I havent been able to get any discussion with the school district or their mother. As can be expected my girls are very upset and sad about this move as they have gone to Sunnyside since they started school and thats where the majority of their friends are. Also this is were they have played sports and have their teams at. Not to mention we will drive right past Sunnyside to go to franklin and all of the neighbor kids attend Sunnyside. I live 8 blocks from Sunnyside and I know people who have just moved into the area and also those who live out of town that have been admitted to Sunnyside. My kids are relying on me to try and fix this issue, and these decisions are being made without any input from me despite the court ordering I have joint say in education. My kids have been through a roller coaster ride the past three years with having to move multiple times and having major life changes occur. I want to provide them stability as much as i can by providing a stable residence and a safe and comfortable school environment they are familiar with. I dont think franklin is a bad school, but They have been through so much I fear this will be detrimental to them. Does anyone have any advice or tactics that have worked in the past? I would appreciate any help.
