Off the Grid Day 2015 - An Idea Dear Friends, We are now very much aware of Government snooping into our private email accounts, which websites we visit, where we go every day (Cell Phone Tracking) etc. To show our displeasure with this huge invasion of our privacy by the security services of our respective Governments, this is what I propose: 1) We have a Global Day of Action called Off the Grid Day 2) This day would be similar to when on Earth Day everybody turns out their lights for one hour except, it would be for 24 Hours 3) On that day, people in all parts of the world, would turn off their computers, shut down their Fax Machines, turn off their Cell Phones, not make a phone call on their land line, not use an ATM machine and simply enjoy one day of not being monitored! 24 Hours. 4) Of course, many like Hospitals, Fire Fighting Services etc. couldnt do that but, many of us ordinary people could do this! 5) Imagine the Governments of the World blind from the surveillance of their own people for just one day. Now that would send a message to them that we dont like being Spied on! 6) Perhaps Off the Grid Day should be held in 2015 on the date that Mr. Snowden first leaked the information about the extend that ordinary people are under cyber surveillance by their own and other Governments. Just an idea. JH
