Off the track Thoroughbred mare for sale $1500 OBO Sold by owner More details available Name: Aptitude Attitude (Addie) Age: right around 9 years old. Can confirm with owner. Addie has been off the track for several years. She has been in a field until the last 6 weeks (Week of May 4- Week of June May 16). Addie went through 6 weeks of Parelli style ground work training with a college student, over 40 hours of documented training. All training has been documented with thorough detail, if you want any more detail before looking at her please contact me. Addie is a beautiful mover with a great deal of potential. Addie has never displayed any aggression towards people, even when she first came out of the field Training areas applied: • Being touched all over (hands and carrot stick- including ears, face and utters) • Grooming • Driving (long lining) with saddle and surcingle • Hip, shoulder side pressure with hand • Tolerance of having a carrot stick swing around and gently on her. • Yo Yo style backing • Loading/unloading on a trailer • Saddling • Rope pressure on legs • Tying • Being hosed off • Fly spraying • Leading • Lunging- Walk, Trot, Canter, stop and Turn She does have vices. Student has worked through several of her vices already. Vices include becoming pasture sour when asked to enter new situations, flyspraying (Addie will not consistently stand for being fly sprayed. Her reactions are that she will walk in a circle), she has some difficulty transitioning down gaits when being lunged (such as a trot to a walk), she has indicated two times that she may want to nip while being saddled and coming to a consistent flat footed stop while long lining. Addie progressed from being nervous about being around people to having a saddle put on and having the student lean on her back while standing on a mounting block in only 6 weeks. She has a lot of potential. Addie was under saddle while being raced, in the last 6 weeks student has not been ridden. Addie is used to having dogs around her.
