Off to bed early for my 6:30 cab to the Amtrak station, slowly wending home. A quick note of thanks to Bill Godfrey, who descended on me like the Good Fairy this afternoon and drove me all around Pittsburgh, including some fascinating, edgy Bohemian neighborhoods, and even managed to include two immense cemeteries that match those in Boston and Providence for size and splendor -- one was a virtual necropolis of mausoleums. I shall come back for repeat investigations. Bill and I also had a great time comparing notes on mutual friends from Edinboro, including some delicious scandals of yesteryear. What a day, and how nice that this was not a solitary trip for me. I shall return.
