Offenses dominate as Bear River JV outscores Monterey Trail 17-10 The bats were busy at Monterey Trail High School on Tuesday, and when the dust cleared Bear River JV had a 17-10 win over Monterey Trail in seven innings. There were 27 hits, including three extra base hits in the game. Bear River JV / Bruins blew out Monterey Trail thanks to 17 hits, including two extra base hits. Bear River JV scored six runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Jacob Cross, an RBI single by Justin Pitts, an RBI single by Justin Dooley, a two-run double by Jacob Van Patten, an RBI single by Trace Anderson, and an RBI single by Joel Rivett. The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with six lead changes. Bruins took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. Bear River went up for good on a two-run single by Joe Rantz off #10, bringing home Griffin Frank and Joel. BRJV easily handled Monterey Trail pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, nine RBIs and 11 runs scored. Monterey Trail got two-run rallies in the fourth inning and the seventh.
