Sharing this from the Press Release put out by the Office of Senator Terrance Positive Nelson, Legislature of the Virgin Islands # 100 Lagoon Complex Ste. 2, Frederiksted, U.S.V.I 00840-3912 Senator Nelson is pleased to announce that Bill 30-0422, An Act to provide for a referendum vote on legalizing Marijuana for Medicinal purposes, will be heard in the Committee on Rules and Judiciary on Thursday, July 24, 2014. The hearing will commence at 9am, in the Fritz E. Lawaetz Conference Room, located in the Legislature on St. Croix. Senator Nelson remarked, Why should we continue to deny people, with medical conditions, access to medicine that works? It is his intention to have this topic put before the public to be voted on during the November 2014 General Election. A few of the invited testifiers are as follows: Dr. Kendall Griffith, Interim CEO JFL Hospital David Hall, President of UVI Dr. Cora L.E. Christian MD, MPH Darice Plaskett, Commissioner of the Dept of Health Louis E. Petersen, Jr. Ph.D, Commissioner of Agriculture Dept Grant Aeschliman, Vice President, USVI NORMAL Wharton H.
