Office of Student Activities Photographer Position Available Number of Students: 1-3 Job description: We are looking for an experienced student photographer with an interest in photojournalism who can creatively document the energy of events on campus sponsored by the Office of Student Activities (Orientation, Campus Programs, Clubs/Organizations, and Leadership Programs) and turn around those images in a timely fashion. We will use the images in Office of Student Activities publications (including mailings and the Yearbook) both online and in print. We will also use images on our social media sites and in presentations. Desired skills and qualifications: Preference will be given to those who own a Digital Single Lens Reflex camera and those who have taken or are taking photography courses. Knowledge of photography software preferred. Candidates should be able to provide access to quality photography in a timely fashion through a confirmed process with the Office of Student Activities. Students will need to submit a small electronic portfolio to show your skills. What skills will a student gain from this experience? Through this position, you will further develop skills necessary to be successful in the media, gain experience in a professional environment, improve your photography, work with a supportive staff, get your work published and begin to build a professional portfolio. In addition, you will get to enjoy many Lasell events. Hours: Will vary but will not conflict with classes. Most of the time will be spent at the events. Typical events are held Wednesdays through Sundays with various locations and length of time. The position would start in Fall 2013. This position is unpaid. Reporting to: the Director of Student Activities and Orientation Application: Qualified candidates will meet with the Director of Student Activities and Orientation. Interested students should submit a portfolio of photos, resume, and answer the following questions in an essay. 1) Why are you interested in this position? 2) How long have you been interested in photography? 3) What is your vision for capturing activities at Lasell through photos?
