Often I am asked, Hey TC, what ever happened to that case after we stepped up and shared it all over, Planet Facebook. Here is what typically happens. The Officers working on the case get the information and use it to further their investigation. Yesterday, we quickly were tuned in to a suspect in the IPad theft and Officer Brian Smith is following up today. It was fast. That helps us tremendously. The second case was the individual that was skulking about in the parking garage, removing catalytic converters. Remember, I believed he had stolen Santa. I was right. I mean, I know Santa when I see him. The odd thing was that the driver of the car looked a little different than the person in the maroon hoodie. The vehicle stop was reenacted in our evidence bay today. What would you do if you came across this duo in a motor vehicle? Can you handle this kind of danger? I dont think so Skippy! The driver, refused to remove his hat. The captive in the back appeared to be relieved at his new found freedom. Its Christmas people. Cops live for just this kind of story around the holidays. The headline has been written! Santa Claus Freed after Frosty Ride Through Bangor!.!.! The car in question IS in fact the car in this photograph. Officer Brooker, Caron and Officer Doug Smith worked together and we identified the suspect in the case. Warrants were served and evidence gathered. It is an active case but I cannot share anymore than that right now. We are very pleased. The statues are plastic. Thats right, these are not the real Santa and Frosty. We believe it highly possible that these two characters might have been removed from someones yard. It could have happened somewhere between Bangor and Hancock County. If you are missing one or even two festive (and now free) lawn ornaments, give our tipline a call or leave us a message on Facebook. (Tipline 207-947-7384 EXT 6). As for the other missing loot, well, lets just say it will all work out. Have a great weekend everyone. Share our Christmas miracle on Facebook, LIKE our PAGE. The men and women of the Bangor Police Department will be here (and our eyes are not made of coal).
