Often in designing a training program I will establish a sequence of workouts (often 5) and repeat it several times before changing the stimulus. This is done so that the body has time to adapt and gain the benefits from the workouts before we change things up. We change up the stimulus to break out of stagnation and spark growth, but we also need to be patient and let the sequence work and gain the benefits from it first.
