Often people ask us, What do you farmers do in the winter? do - TopicsExpress

Often people ask us, What do you farmers do in the winter? do things slow down? Well sort of, we drive the work more than it drives us. Since we sold the dairy cows at least the 24/7-365 is no longer a part of it and that makes life much easier. One of the things we do is spend a lot of time in the shop getting equipment ready for next year. The 2950 John Deere loader tractor shown is a 1985 model and to keep them running strong and looking good we do mechanical maintenance as well as freshen them up a bit. A Tractor with good paints gets treated better we have found. Michelles grandfather Ethan bought a John Deere 1020 back in the early 60s. It is still in every day use on the farm today. These old tractors are great for our purposes. Yes we have some newer ones too but the old iron is easy, well easier anyhow, to repair and less expensive to maintain. Next on the list is the grain drill, then the hay wagons then.....it is a Long List!
