Oh Bill Maher, I have tried and tried, in all earnest, to disagree with you on this subject--simply for the sake of disagreeing with you. Why? Because i dont want to be just another nonCreationist jumping on the Bill Maher bandwagon. Lets face it, if I am buying into an ideology out of a sense of custom rather than due to an exacting, stringent investigation, then I am no different from the Creationist. In which case, I might as well just surrender to Creationism and save myself the headache of doing a whole bunch of extra work. But Bill, when you posit assertions like: Why did Jesus need to come along to correct his dad(i.e. a god who supposedly is perfect), and Faith: the purposeful suspension of critical thinking, by doing so you enlist a trenchant examination, as to which I literally tire trying to find formidable rebuttals. Consequently, I just give up, exhausted. I WOULD here disclaim the notion that I mean to offend any Creationists. I have respected friends among that lot. But then, it too often seems impossible to say anything contrary to Creationism and NOT offend Creationists. Those to whom this generality does not apply likely need no such disclaimer to begin with.
