Oh, I really, really love this. This is the part of my faith that has been the hardest. I have been part of many churches where the imperfect need not apply. I have learned the basis of my religion in the your lifestyle doesnt fit here churches. And I have floundered in finding my beliefs in churches where gossip and judgement was rampant. I feel like my current church, my current home has taught me to love people. Maybe you dont agree with something they are doing. Love them anyway. Maybe you arent sure their lifestyle will line up with our doctrine, and they are fishing for an invite. Invite them, love them, then let God decide how to speak to them. Church is not for perfect people, or I certainly would not be there! And until Im perfect, I shouldnt ask anyone else to be..... But I can listen when they need an ear. I can pray with them when they are so far in the throes of sorrow they cant pray for themselves. I can empathize. I can hug them and just let them cry. And I can help when someone just needs a helping hand. After all, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
