Oh Mongolia. You did it to me again. The Ger camp / Eco lodge we were going to spend a week at ended up being in the least scenic bit of Mongolia. Then we discovered the promised yak and camel rides were "not possible" (due to complete lack of yaks and camels). Then the archery turned out to be just rickety old bend balsa wood arrows with rubber tips to be aimed at plastic bottles (the website showed fancy real arrows shooting at a beautiful leather target). Then we learned the endless permutations of mutton and mutton fat that came at every meal (mutton-fat fried bread with mutton fat and flour broth and a leg of mutton). Then we went on a nature hike and found zero animals (unless mosquitos and a tame kitten count?). So we are back in UB. Sigh. So ready to go home.
