Oh boy I’m venturing into the rant zone, which is not a comfort zone for me. But what the heck. :) First things first: The following rant is not in any way shape or form, intended to be about the grand jury decision, or the shooting in Cleveland. Its sole intent is to express my views about the minimizing unexcitable behaviors. (Also, no hatin’ or potty mouth comments please) Rant: News stories regarding the violence in Ferguson are being labeled as “Protest.” When dozens of people are being injured, city blocks set on fire, firefighters subjected to gun shots and police cars burned; this is not protesting, these are the acts of criminals. What is happening in Ferguson is a riot, not a protest. When people loot, assault and commit acts of arson, it is all about them and has nothing to do with whatever reasons they might be spewing. The term “peaceful protest” is redundant. If it something other than peaceful then call it what it is. Describing group violence as protesters or voicing their frustration, only serves to diminish the damage and injuries they have caused. People have been injured and places of employment burned and this can never be justified. Cleveland Rant: Was any thought given to travelers using the Shoreway prior to blocking it? How could the demonstrators know the needs of commuters? Perhaps there were people with urgent needs, employment issues, illnesses or suffering family members? If you are truly concerned for humanity, then what about the humans you infringed on tonight? Stand up for your virtues and let your voices ring But when its at the expense of fellow human being, you really have no virtue at all. End of Rant: :)
