.:: Oh how time flies as easy as the flag waves in the breeze of a sunny summer day; kind of on a day like today. .two years ago today we had one of the most emotional days of our lives; one that can never be forgotten; one that makes youre heart swell with pride and your eyes swell with tears. . two years ago today we got each other back after what seemed like an eternity of a deployment and a battle through hell. With hearts pounding and racing, a knot in the pit of your stomach with the feeling as if the last breath of yours was taken away, lost for words, and shaking with nerves of steel causing you to tremble from your teeth to your toes filled with excitement. No one can really tell you what a homecoming is like. Its an experience not all are blessed to have. I cannot even fathom any words to describe it except for.... pure love. It is the feeling of true and utter pure love. seeing your loved one return home after such a life learning experience during a treacherous journey, never knowing, well, anything. . .but when you see their feet on the beautiful soil of our beloved nation, when you see that dirt stained face with a white grin peering through, when you smell the eight months of sweat, blood, and tears wafting off of there stale petrified uniforms as they enter in by a single file line carrying their life for the last few years on their backs and in their arms only to be dropped to the floor at the sight of their loved one once again being there, waiting there like they waited for you the whole entire time not budging an inch. Being there for you like they promised. .this just scratches the surface... the emotions just roll back and cut even deeper, it is like reliving each and every painful, but BEAUTIFUL second. . and to be honest. . I would not give up those memories of pain for anything on Gods green Earth. They made us as strong as we are today. A bond we have that can never be broken; one that was born from and made from pure love::. Jake Pearson
