Oh man, oh man. The difference between free range local eggs, - TopicsExpress

Oh man, oh man. The difference between free range local eggs, where the bird gets to run around, eat bugs, and do its happy chicken thing in general, versus store bought avian-torture eggs is huge. The first tip off to the difference between the two is that the shell on a free roaming chicken egg will be much much stronger. You really have to beat the thing to get it open. The second tip off is the color of the yolk. Bright, vibrant color! The third tip off is the smell.. free rage eggs arent pungent but have an earthy smell. Heres what matters to me... if an animal is malnourished or sickly, the body will prioritize survival over reproduction. The caged chicken is surviving but its not reproducing ( laying eggs ) as well as it could be. The egg is very likely lacking in nutrients. Would you rather eat something that came from an animal that is thriving, or barely surviving?
