Sherlock Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. 7. The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton. 8. The Princess Bride, by William Goldman. 9. The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne. 10. Madeline, by Ludwig Bemelmans.
