Oh sweet childhood...how I miss thee... Dr. Seuss was a staple - TopicsExpress

Oh sweet childhood...how I miss thee... Dr. Seuss was a staple for me. I still have all the books. My daughter has read them and I intend to save them for my grandchildren one day. Back in the day critics skewered Theodor Geisels writing style and called it gibberish. As it turned out Geisel (we know him as Dr. Seuss) was onto something...phonetics, sounds and using your imagination. He fostered my love of reading early on with these words which I type from memory: My hat is old. My teeth are gold. I have a bird I like to hold. My shoe is off. My foot is cold. My shoe is off. My foot is cold. I have a bird I like to hold. My hat is old. My teeth are gold. And now my story is all told. It excites me that The Lost Stories from Dr. Seuss are available....new stories with characters we know and love and a few new characters as well. Something you might want to grab for your kids or grandkids!
