Oh yeah...I almost died on the hike today. Were walking along and Im watching for rocks and tree roots, trying to make sure I dont trip and fall, and I see a ginormous centipede. I mean seriously big! So I freak out and the guys, who are ahead of me, stop and walk back to see. Our guide, Eddie, says that when u see a centipede its a sign to be careful. So he reminds us to pay attention and we continue on our hike. About 10 minutes later we hear this loud noise, sounded like someone fired a gunshot. Then all I hear is cracking above me. I look to my right and see a huge tree next to me. My instincts said run away from the tree. I run up and a huge tree branch comes crashing down behind me. Right behind me! A few of the smaller branches grazed my backside as it made a loud thud hitting the ground. My life had literally flashed before me eyes. Crazy. Eddie said today was my day. It would have for sure killed me or sent me to the hospital with severe injury if it had fallen directly on top of me. So if you see a centipede....be careful! Took pics of the branch on the way back.
