Ohana has re-homed 13 horses in the last three weeks. We have mentioned some, but due to trying to have a bit of a financial break, we have not posted out as we usually do. We have many many here yet that are in need of their forever homes. BamBam, TB a yearling colt that was gelded months ago. He is ready to be started. His momma who he came in with was about 15.2. He is bay, and is still waiting for that special person to call his own. Ginger, a yearling filly. (Grade) Doc states that she is just one year old. She also is waiting for her special human to call her own. Both the babies, need one on one time. They both need started. Rio, a 10 yr old Paso, came in as a stallion, but was gelded asap. He was a wonderful stallion, and is an awesome gelding. He came in thin, and is now just about at weight. He is perfect. We were told that he rides, but have not yet to get on his back. Dream, 3 yr old Appendix mare. She is a special case. She will require someone that uses NH, and is on their game. She is beautiful, and I feel comfortable saying that she is one of the smartest horses I have met. She plays the 7 games. We have been on back, bare and in saddle. Loads by herself, stands for farrier. Tear, a 9 yr old registered, with papers, Quarter Horse. She came from a family, where she was born, and left in pasture. At her previous home, she was climbed all over by an 11 yr old. She needs trained. She came in with hernia, which was repaired by Ocala Equine Medical Center. Honey, a 6 yr old registered, with papers, Quarter Horse. She is a sister of Tear. She also was climbed all over by an 11 yr old at her previous home. She also had a hernia that was mended as the same time as her sister. Both horses need to be trained, but no abuse that anyone has to overcome. Willing to learn. Horse, 16 yr old gelding, that we do believe he might be Mustang, just by his demeanor. He will only be a companion horse, babysitter, or lawn mower. He has been here over a yr now. He has come a long way, he just lived in a round pen all his live, with no other horse or human contact, except to throw grain. Katie, 5 yr old mare. She is an appy. She has sight issues in her right eye. She is the horse that came back with a hole in her jaw. She had her surgery at Ocala Equine Medical, and is now ready for her forever person. She is a pony. Has been around children and the woman that had her for a yr before she came back to Ohana, stated she would put kids on her back, but once again, she cannot co-sign that. The above horses are ready at this time....the following horses are not ready, and I do not know if they will every be ready, or if they are, it will be later. We need to re-home the healthy ones to make room for others that need a safe haven. Isabell...is a lifer. She is allergic to grass and grain, and is on a special diet, and no offense, I cannot trust anyone to take the care of her that she deserves. Crowder.. at this time will be staying at Ohana as security for the front/back pasture. He protects the horses. April/Metro.. momma and baby. Metro was just born a month and half ago, and as soon as he is weaned, his momma is going to my Uncle Charlies ranch to protect his livestock. Metro might be staying as security to protect the horses in either front or back, wherever Crowder is not. Hope...17 yr old gelding. He is still in rehab, but doing nicely. Even if he was up to par, the judge has to hear the case before he can go anywhere. Missy...has a lifetime sponsor who we are hoping that as soon as her sponsor gets her own property she will be going to live with her. Mr. T..just came back from being gone for almost a yr, and he is acclimating once again, to his surroundings. We have not asked nothing of him, but to be a horse. Yoda..14 yr gelding. Beautiful on the outside, but spooky on the inside. I work with him constantly and we are getting somewhere. But until I know he will not hurt anyone, or himself, he will stay here. Chewy...14 yr gelding, right now is being used as a confidence builder. Anyone that comes over and just wants a horse fix, Chewy is the go too guy. Gemi- Allans personal horse. Lil Bit- my personal horse. FINN, DIAMOND, are waiting for their forever homes to be finished so they can go home. Dallas, stays here while in training for his mother. That concludes the names and status of each horse here at Ohana. As you can see, there are many here that are waiting for their special person, and many that are still healing.
