Ohhh goodness! We had a bit of an unexpected, and slightly scary, adventure tonight. Weve lived in Newport over 3 years. Behind where we live is Newport Lakes. Someone told us there wasnt an ACTUAL lake, because it used to be a quarry. We believed this. But tonight we thought wed go for a walk at about 7.10, and thought wed investigate these Lakes. 15 mins into walking, its like weve hit lush bush, lots of trees and gorgeousness, like the middle of an Aussie forest! OMG its so beautiful! And lo and behold, theres a bloody lake in amongst it! We got so excited as scurried down a gravel path and looked around, Im waxing lyrical about the snacking photo shoots I can organise with Darrell Caruana here and even Kels impressed with the beauty. Then it started getting dark. Wed wound our way along paths and areas and werent REALLY paying attention. Thank god I had Kel with me or Id STILL be in there!!! You should have seen us...scurrying up paths and around, walking so fast, as its getting darker and darker and we are in the middle of this FOREST. No sign posts, never been there before, in the dark, and neither of us have our iPhones. Bloody hell!!!!!! But my Ms Bear Grills managed to find us a way out, right as full dark sets in and even my positivity was starting to get taken over by slight panic. I would have thought wed have burned more calories with our hearts beating in a panic like that!!!! Hahaha.
