Ohio Camera Club guys, recent posts have made me think about my old days in the photo business. Used to do business with Shan and Stu at CCG. Then there was someone else from there who struck out on his own and went into the business, if I recall. Anyone know if Sam Vinegar of the Photorama Shows is still with us? Or his son Abraham? Their employee BIG Louis Dennison? All were from Grosse Pointe Woods, MI or around there. There were TWO guys named Bill Moretz- one from Romeoville, IN., the other from Virginia. Arnie Duren of Brooklyn Camera Exchange used to show up sometimes. Did anyone know Dr. Stephen Sipos? I sold him some Linhof gear. There was a book store in Ohio, Columbus I think, which specialized in photo books. I recall a big guy named Terry who used to deal in darkroom equipment. I see Cameta camera on ebay, I guess that is Bill Cameta, I used to know. I remember a young guy from Indiana I think it was, who used to do Elvis impressions. Phat Le I knew pretty well. Greg Metzger? Knew some Russians. Knew a couple of Poles who were thieves (not generalizing on all Poles, but these individuals would steal you blind). I dont recall where Stuart and Gail Traill were from, they had an all-girl staff working the shows for them. Anyone ever know PK, the little Indian guy who sold instruction books? Saw a year or two ago that John Craig had died, I contacted his wife Joyce about buying some literature, but she wasnt interested in dealing with the business at the time. Just idle memories, I mostly got out of the business about 20 years ago. Comment if you wish on any or all folks mentioned here. Probably a lot more that I dont remember than I do.
