Oi! Attention old DC scene punks: Im helping a friends 11th grade daughter, who is creating a documentary (as a school project) on the riot grrrl underground feminist punk rock movement. If you should know of anyone who was involved with the movement, has memories of gigs, photos, stories, etc., please contact me. She is interested in interviewing local DC folks who were involved in the movement, either as performers, worked at clubs/booked where bands performed, or who may have been spectators. Her goal is to take pictures, gather audio and video clip interviews for her school project, due sometime in October. Shes a very cool kid, carrying the torch for the future and keeping the subculture/alternative lifestyle very much alive. We should support her!
